FTGDCA Junior Extreme Weather Policy
Extreme Heat
Under the following heat conditions junior matches will be called off.
Thursday and Friday Nights
If at 3.00pm on a Friday (or any other day scheduled for a make up match) the temperature for any time post 5.00pm according to the BOM site at Scoresby is forecast to reach the temperatures listed below, those junior age group matches will be called off:
Super 7's and Fast 9's – 34 degrees
U/12 and U/13 – 36 degrees
U/14 – 38 degrees
Saturday Mornings
If at 7.00am on a Saturday morning the temperature for any time during the hours of 8.00am and 11.30am according to the BOM site at Scoresby is forecast to reach over 38 degrees all junior matches will be called off.
Lightning
Should any lightning be visible before a match, the match is not to commence until there is no further sign of lightning.
Should any lightning be visible during a match, all players are to leave the field immediately and play is not to resume until there is no further sign of lightning.
Note: visible does not mean any match official is to make a determination as to how far away it is. If it can be seen it is visible and the lightning policy is to take effect immediately.
